House of Coconut Craft (HOCOCO) is social enterprise that located in Plampang 1 Village, Kulon progo, Yogyakarta. 
In 2017, there were 20% residents in Kulonprogo that were located below poverty’s line. One of the villages is Plampang 1 Village that has two main potentials which are coconut husk and unemployed women that haven’t been utilized optimally. Coconut husks are thrown away in large number and become a pile of wastes. Unemployed women don’t have any job to help family’s economy because of lack of job opportunities.
Thefore, Hococo wil help to solve the problems and improve Plampang 1 Village’s economy and welfare to support and create better environment by empowering and educate unemployed women to produce Coco craft. Hococo also educate them by training and make sustainable development program for socio-economic.

Did you know that we tend to use recycled coconut husk? 
We have a goal in succeding the zero waster goal, so we try to recycle coconut husk into coconut fibre and coconut peat. For now we are using cocopeat as main material of our product cocopotty. In the future we seek to use coconut fibre to form a material inside a pillow and a keychain.

makin-makin pusing dengan semua materinya hehe, tapi value added banget buat kita. Mulai dari latihan pitching yang baik, ngasih feedback ke sesama, trus kita juga belajar bikin konten sosial media yang menarik. Malemnya kita makan malem sambil karoekean bareng, seru banget.

Getting closer to presentation ! 

Second day of YCSE Academy Bootcamp, all partisipant continued the presentation of Social Business Model Canvas, Hococo get some suggestions from PLUS and it should improve for better future.

Then by the InStellar team, from Mr. Romy the CEO of InStellar, we got Essential Strategies for SE Sustainibility, the Business Model Canvas, Business Models, Type of Funding.

InStellar is so great, they teach us about how to craft an effective pitch. This so challenging for Hococo to present the main focus of Hococo, in 3 minutes.

First day of YCSE Academy Bootcamp, Hococo has learnt about how to make a great life map, create a theory of change, and how to make a social business model canvas that presented by PLUS.

Before all of that we also doing a mini presentation where each team must presented about their socio enterprise only in a minute and witnessed by U.S Embassy team. 

And after that we taking photo with all of the socio enterprise team, US Embassy, campaign.id team, and also PLUS team.

Dalam memulai serta mengembangkan sebuah sociopreneur, suatau usaha harus mempunyai perencanaan yang baik salah satunya dengan proposal yang baik pula. Dimana proposal tersebut dapat memuat perencanaan serta program-program yang akan dilaksanakan ke depannya. Kemudian di awal pendirian tentu akan ditemui banyak masalah yang harus diatasi dan kita juga harus memiliki anggota dengan komitmen yang kuat karena kerjasama tim sangat dibutuhkan dalam masa masa awal pendirian dan pengembangan, Kemudian suatu usaha juga harus merencanakan untuk kelangsungan dan kebermanfaatan ke depannya karena jika hanya dilaksanakan sesaat maka hanya memiliki sedikit dampak. Selain itu juga harus dipertimbangkan mengenai dampak manfaat yang ditimbulkan serta kemampuan komunitas tersebut dalam mengelola sumberdaya agar  dapat memenuhi target serta memberikan manfaat dalam jangka panjang.

 Hococo or House of coconut craft is a social community that seek  goal in empowering unemployed woman in Plampang 1, Yogyakarta by making high-quality handicraft using recycled material from coconut husk wastes. We help unemployed women by educate them to recycling coconut husk waste and making coco craft using these recycled materials.  Through HOCOCO products, people evolve to be closer and live more responsible, and also increase environmental awareness.

HOCOCO is social community that create social enterprise since the end of 2017. Our impact is not just for unemployed women and environment , but also on the livelihood coconut farmers and people in Plampang 1 Village. We are have been published in Trans 7 : Laptop si Unyil , UGM Today News, and Tribun Jogja newspaper. Which means, we are serious with our programs and continuously develop our social service.
