"Misteripang is a company which engage processing seafood “sea cucumber” and make it as such kind of healthy chips. We start our bussiness in 2016 and still on going until now. Our company has purpose to build a sustainable fisheries through make a balance on creating system and activity as real effort start from the beginning where the raw materials originate, manage the balance of all interests of environmental, socio-cultural aspects of the fisherman lively hood, seafood manufacture and customer, as part of the whole chain of fisheries or Seafood Industry Business. We start this bussiness from the background we have to realize that :

- Indonesia as an archipelago, which has till 70% is ocean area
 - Area marine contains a very large and varied economic potential including fish resources
 - the social and economic problems of fishing communities where as many as 13.3% of coastal fishermen in Indonesia live under poverty 
- The poverty still have been collided with the lives of many fishermen
 - the pressure from the owners of capital, profit-sharing system that is not fair, trade or auctioning process of fish that are not transparent (controlled by middlemen)
 - the fisherman family which lack knowledge to make a creative industry from sea food.  

From the economic side, what the fishermen catch, is so far from enough to complete their necessities. This is caused by lack of capital owned by fishermen, the pressure from the owners of capital -profit sharing system that is not fair, trade or auctioning process of fish that are not transparent (controlled by middlemen). 

Therefore, we come to help fisherman from around Kanjeran Beach, Surabaya, East of Java, Indonesia. so, their economic life will increase by helping develop and re-branding fresh seafood products from the catch of fishermen. We empower the wife of fisherman to fill their empty time with productive activity to process the sea cucumber. Together we make a healthy sea cucumber chips snacks which have variant flavour, with the purpose increasing the income of fisherman families. Hopefully Misteripang coming to give impacts:

 - Increasing the income of fishermen families
 - Helping the fishermen to gain a proper income
 - Empowering the wife of fishermen to fill their time with productive activity to make creative industry
 - Making the fishermen know how to process seafood in a creative way
 
 We put a serious concern on brand and distribution matters. Now, we distribute our products through offline and online marketing. We use kind of technology social media such as instagram @misteripang.official and fanspage, marketplace, and now we are on progress making our own website (misteripang.weebly.com) to enlarge our market widely. Hopefully we can reach our goal in sustainable fisheries and gaining largely market through technology. I believe from YCSE 2 we can get a courage from the expertise to develope our social entreprise."

Make sustainable fisheries through empowering the fishermen families to improve their income

Based on the fisheries problem, although Indonesia has a largely ocean area, and has so much various fish within, 13.3% of our coastal fisherman still under poverty. Misteripang come to make sustainable fisheries and help to increase economic fisherman income problem through empowering the fisherman and the wife together to make creative industry in processing sea cucumber into variant flavour chips in a good way packaging and selling the products through social media and website.

We believe, by empowering the fishermen families, they will get some benefits such as processing Sea food to a kind of chip snacks and help to increase their income.

We can't do it alone, technology has a big role and impact to our purpose. throught this way, hopefully people can join to help us and also giving contribution to support sustainable fisheries.
