Who : Ecodex is community organization who believe that mining sector should have a real positive contribution for sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Indonesia of which are classified in direct impact on the environment (life on land (15); life below water (14); climate action (13); affordable and clean energy (7); clean water and sanitation (6) and indirect impact on society development such as industry, innovation, and infrastructure (9); decent work and economic growth (8); quality education (4); and no poverty (1). 

Ecodex is a room to learn, advance the competencies, and to connect in an impactful collaboration from mining industry, government, private sector, institution, non-government organization to youth as the future actor in this sector. Our team is consisted in 3 persons. Dian Istanto, called by Dito, as a founder is a bachelor degree graduate in mining engineering and he has an expertise of 7 years working for mining company.  He passionates about teaching and training as he has a dream to be a lecture in mining and energy area. He really want to pursue master study in mining law and the environment.

Dya Loretta as a Co-Founder is a lecturer in Marketing Communication and do project for marketing consultant. She loves to meet people and asociates with female organisation.

Titik Rusmiati as a Co-Founder is a community development enthusiast and interested in female issue and social. She did mentorship and coaching for youth enterpreneurship.

We met a team and been friends since 2017 they met in Kampung Inggris, Pare. They went there for english purpose but have the same charateristic in the area of enterpreneurship, social issue, and young change maker.

What is business model? Is a collection of assumption that must be true in in order to our start up to generating a consistent profit. This assumption include a precise description of customer we will engage, the problem we want to solve to those customer, the feature of the solution about problem, the messages and channels we use to connect to those customers, the economic around what and how we will charge for the solution and what will cost  us to provided.77
What does scalability mean? Scalable means to see the opportunity in gaining profit, and to find the way to grow our business rapidly. The hypothesis validation of the data we provide is important and could be collected from the actual interaction with our customer. “Lean Startup Methodology” is one of the important way of going an continues experimental business model development. They are iterative, experimental approaches, in depth understanding of customer underneath with fast and flexible approach of building up our product. It must be fast as possible, getting tested at your customer, and a quick twigs and changes, and repeat.
What is the essence of a great pitch? To communicate the business model to potential investor to other audiences is to keep the pitch updated. It is the story we tell about our business through deck. This is consisted of 10 to 12 slides and no more and as visual as we can make. Great Story Is all about the beginning, middle and the end.
The beginning: Setting the scene (Compiling the characters to our audience can relate)
The middle: is about explaining a challenge to face
The end: how the character can resolving the problem in a satisfying way.
Pitch:
1.       Who the user if the solution is
2.       The explaining the problem the your user face (frustrating or expensive), anecdote, or case study to make the problems seem real with data to explain the size of the problem is ideal
3.       How you make the solution solve this problem, simplest terms possible.

We have to show that our business can strive and knowing the profitability and growth. The founder should have an ability to drive and a great idea. So that identify our potential partners is very important according to both skills set and personality. What chose the right combination of skill and characteristic of business partner to take benefit of complementing each other. Dealing with customer and business partner is vital capability that our team should have to handle investor and build up the networking. Personality mismatches is something that can lead to a business failure so find the best team not only in the area of skills diversity but more importantly the personality mate. Founder should do a clearly assigned roles of each team from the start. Writing the planned and craft the pitch. Short and explaining the business. The key is to convey why the business is worth to investing in. what kind of value we create for the customer. The value preposition must be framed in numbers and quantity of the customer market to gain commit from the investor for our business. The pitch started from the single initial market and the steps to create a new potential opportunity to grow the business. Grab the attention is vital as well.
We need to do research of the investor in terms of their past project they were investing in and if it successful then we have a chance to lead a consistent market by showing our product and its competitiveness.
Do follow up is needed and don’t be afraid to do it. Everything must be back to numbers, research, and a plan. Our job is help the investor to imagine what our business could be like someday with their funding.
People factor is very important in regard with the relationship. Many of investment that we can get from the investor. What kind of funding type that available for startup. Most common one is angel investment. It is usually help us until MPV and launching. The second is venture, in the form of loan or debt. It is also quite common if we don’t really want to share the equity. The third is venture equity that can give us capital by taking certain of share.
