We are the young generation who want to go back to our community of moeslim women in Indonesia (Sisters) to share our English teaching and learning experiences that we gained internationally (Green School) and nationally (Jakarta, West Java, Sulawesi and Bali). Sisters who lack of English skills won’t be able to take advantage of better career and education in this millennial era. We will establish a social enterprise, English for Sister. It’s an online English course with lower price and Green knowledge in the curriculum. 

We give an online English course via WhatsApp group to sisters who have learned some English but have slow progress. We will activate their English through 15 minutes audio lesson that we maximize in the way that sisters can get the best out of it, there will be interactive question and answer (QnA) session too, and our masterpiece is to give personalized success plan for every single sisters.

EnglishforSisters

We will activate passive English as well as cultivate environmental awareness

Been teaching English here and there, keep us thinking how we could provide lessons which are effective to make English familiar. We came to a realization that we need to teach the right mindset approach to it that English is cultural, so we combine Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and native conversation of English.

We’ve collected offline and online resources and picked the best out of them. We spend hours just to make one 15-minute audio lesson, our recording studio is so simple, we’re looking forward to have fancy one hopefully next month and you can “DONATE” to contribute! 

Audio lessons are specially designed to make sisters familiar with English

As our team discussed further about our plan, it become clear to us on how we are going to execute our business plan, especially  with the help of the coaching classes. We edited our proposal update based on the 1st and 2nd classes, and here is more update on planning for sustainability inspired by the speakers in the 3rd class.

We focus on Indonesian moeslim woman (sisters) which is a huge marketplace, we narrow it again to those who have already had basic English but still struggle to improve. By giving online English lessons with affordable price, we want to make sisters be more competitive.

English for sisters is more than just an online English course, it is a community of sisters who will encourage one another to speak English through group discussions and to apply green living by joining workshop or green camp that we plan to offer.

Since we will launch the course on the 1st april, we don’t know yet, but we already have three friends who have asked us to do this, bussiness theory said to not start a bussines unless you are asked to.

# structure and services
Our team has English language background, there are 3 members who has responsibilities based on their experiences. the manager, was a branch manager in english course in Bandung and graduated from bussiness pro campus also in bandung. Marketing officer, is one step away from being celebrity in instagram a.k.a celebgram. The treasurer/secretary, always chosen to be treasurer in her previous organizations. We still need to upgrade our skills by attending lectures, networking, and finding mentors.

We give personalized study plan for each sisters, we want to have website and recording studio to produce high quality of audio lessons.

we want to expand our services by having new classes, workshop, green camp and Youtube channel. 

We are partner with Kul-Kul Connection Bali and recently collaborate with green riders to feed us english and environmental skills

Sustainability:

Giving an English online course is something that we want to do in 5,10 to 20 years, because the demand for english course will increase and we love teaching and learning English, what’s more English for sisters is more than just an English course we want to expand it to many areas.

Success for our entreprise is when we get profit, recruit members consistently and build a strong community.

Stories that we expect to hear in the future are more sisters who used to stuggle with their english will be familiar with English and sisters who used to ignorant about environment will be aware.
 

English for Sisters on Planning for sustainability based on the #3 coaching class


#Our initiative and Team
In this rapid development era, there will be a lot of opportunity to miss if we do not have a good English skill, such as better career and education. English for sister is an English online course initiated for moeslim woman (sisters) who only have passive English so they could activate their English and be more competitive. 

We do believe that climate change is real and we want to spread the awareness, we will try to put green knowledge in our lesson plan. 

Nurul Fitri (Founder/Tutor) set up English courses and curriculum in West Java and Bali. She taught English in Green School Bali and through internship at Green School Bali, she learned about sustainable waste management and environmental education. 

Andi Najihah Manggabarani (Manager/Co-Tutor) is an English Enthusiast, she graduated from Al-Azhar University Jakarta majoring International Relation, she spends her holiday travelling abroad to feed her hunger to practice English, her English skill is unquestionable.

Suci Anggreni (Secretary/ Co-Tutor), the Language Adventurer, holds bachelor degree in English Literature and speaks four different languages, Indonesian, English, Korean and Buginese. She taught Academic English for Senior High Students in 2015 and 2016. She will lead the group discussion. 

#Our Services 

Nowadays sisters are caught up with schools, work, marriage, or Islamic lectures, so we only give a 10-15 minutes audio lesson each day for five days. We believe that small but consistent will work! After that we open discussion session and finally we give practise in the form of video making and drill exercise if necessary. 

English for Sisters is like no other English course, its goal is to activate passive English as well as cultivate environmental awareness, the target audienced is specific only for sisters who know some English (Intermediate). The level will be divided into three; lower (9 lessons), middle (11) and upper (10) intermediate, every level will take approximately 3.5 months. Each lesson has four to eight topics. We will cover one topic for one day. 

The primary device for presenting the material in these lessons is the dialog between tutor and co-tutor. It not only provides flexibility in combining structures and topics to form situation but also is a very effective device for stimulating conversation.

Tutor and co-tutor will regularly follow a procedure in presenting the material in each audio lesson, which is as follow: attention seeker, role-play, connection, practice.

Our mission is to create mobile apps or podcast so that we can achieve our vision to reach huge number of sisters whom we can activate their passive English while cultivating environmental awareness. 

#How

Tim Fijal, Director of Kul-Kul Connection is our advisor. KKC is a social entreprize, specialized in teaching English and Environmental edication for the local community in Sibang Kaja, Badung, Bali.

Our team has capability in producing practical lessons through our professional experiences, we also have offline and online teaching resources and we are willing to learn new skills.
