Did you know that 796,000 tonnes of food was dumped in 2013?

Did you know that 796,000 tonnes of food was dumped in 2013? Some of which could have been salvaged to feed the many underprivileged who go hungry on a very regular basis.

This is why Food Bank Singapore is launching the Foodrescuesg campaign. We wish to raise a petition against food wastage and take a stand against dumping food that is still edible. Regardless if it’s cooked food, frozen food, or packaged food, these food deserved to be given a new lease of life instead of ending up in the dumpster or incinerator.

Since food is such a precious resource to our tiny island, we hope to encourage a change in the dumping policies of many large companies by telling them to consider donating before dumping.

“Why bin it when you can still eat it? “
