Raising awareness and reduce plastic bags use by recycling waste clothes into shopping bags

Plastic bags and textile waste are two of the biggest waste contributor in the world. In Indonesia, the major cause that leads to this problem are Indonesian's consumerist and shopping habit (which includes the excessive use of plastic bags). Through the "Gombal Project", we aspire to raise people's awareness about the impacts of plastic and textile waste, educate them to change their shopping habit, also encourage to recycle their old clothes into shopping bag. We use our instagram, @gombal.project.id, to run our project. On this platform we do: 1. Social media campaign which aims to raise the awarness about the impacts of both plastic and textile waste 2. Open donation (old clothes) for those who wants to join our campaign 3. Join as "Gombal Partner" who can contributes by making shopping bags from old clothes 4. Our follower can also participate by purchasing the bag. In the future, we aim to help reducing plastics bag and textiles waste, while at the same time creating job for housewives around our area.
