We name our social innovation “Rumah Katarak”, it is a web-based innovation that is usable and accessible for everyone. How does it work? It starts with taking the image of the user’s eyes which will then be processed and result in an early hypothesis on whether the eye is indicated to suffer from cataract. In the early stage, we run this innovation in Surabaya under cooperation with nursing homes to check the eyes of the elderlies who stay there. We have been running this innovation since 2030. The idea of this innovation came up thanks to information saying that in 2030 there will be a cataract tsunami if the rate of cataract today keeps increasing and is not solved immediately.
