Around 39 million ton of organic waste is produced in Indonesia everyday, but only a small percentage of it is processed. Using bioreactor technology we designed, organic waste could be converted into 2 types of organic fertilizer (liquid and compost).

The composting process using bioreactor is twice as fast compared to conventional method, use less manpower, easier to do, and able to optimalize production. The bioreactor could also be integrated with IoT system to ease monitoring.

This trial was to see the reception of our bioreactors from farmers. The farmers felt really helped with the presence of the bioreactor. Not only it reduces the waste from cocoa productions, but the bioreactor also produces organic fertilizer which is tremendously useful to farmers. 

The organic fertilizer both reduce the cost for them and reduce the usage of chemical fertilizer. The composting process using bioreactor is much easier and more efficient compared to conventional method. The farmers liked it so much they even plan to procure another one to give it to another farmer group!
