Encouraging the speech and fight against sexual abuse and harassment.
In a metro train in Dubai, I was touched and groped. I was 12, horrified, confused, and scared.
I don't want anybody else to experience that.
And if they have, I want those people to gather the courage to speak up about it, not hide behind it's shadow.
The Touch-Me-Not Campaign is a movement of empowerment. Empowerment for anyone of any gender to stand up for their rights as a human against inhuman crimes.
Gather a few friends and talk to people who may not have access to this empowerment. Provide them with the knowledge of basic safety and the fact that there are always people to support them if they fall. Tell them to share it with people they know. Make it a network of strength. And tell them that being a victim is nothing to be ashamed of, and should instead be communicated to the right authorities to take a step forward in disintegrating the dark cloud of abuse.
It doesn't matter how. Camps, presentations, talks. Anything will do. Get a few friends and talk to underprivileged groups who are unaware of their rights and abilities. Educate them in the art of respect regardless of gender.
Take a picture or video of it and upload it with the hashtag touchmenot and let people know that you support and help a movement that keeps people safe, that keeps people from ever going through the fear and trauma that thousands of people have gone through.
Take the Touch-Me-Not Campaign and spread its pollen wherever you are.
