About 8 billion tons of plastic waste dumped in every year to our ocean. Indonesia ranked as 2nd source of plastic waste dump in the world, However, according to data that published by Boston Consulting, only 10℅ of plastic waste recycled while the rest goes into landfill. So that we decide to turn them into the environmental friendly fuel as substitutions of diesel fuel, by collecting household waste and we got them processed.

We Convert Plastic Waste Into Fuel

The main issue, which we can solve, is that the waste-to-fuel plant construction, being a lucrative financial instrument, remains largely inaccessible to people who want to invest between $100 and $10,000. Investors who are prepared to invest around $10,000 face additional costs, such as: - Technical audit and legislation research - Legal entity registration and costs related to the ownership - Deal execution and intermediaries’ charges These processes can take up to 3 months and their cost is usually about $50,000. Thus, if a person wants to invest $100, 000, the real investment amount, which generates profit, will be halved. Therefore, the above considerations pose a significant obstacle. Any potential investor who does not possess a capital of $1,000,000 or more is not able to become a full-fledged participant in the waste fuel market and cannot generate a profit on an equal footing with large investors. Our goal is to eliminate this barrier to entry. They differ in the degree of readiness, level of risk and profitability. We plan to combine all of them to achieve high profitability with minimal risks. 1. Processing Waste in a Landfill — Small Scale: • Small scale per batch(start from 20kg-100kg), each day can be produced up to 5 batch • Commissioned and already in acquisition • Receiving payments in accordance to the FSA (fuel supply agreement) • Have a history of actual waste data, earnings and revenue Average profitability: 7 - 12%. Processing Waste in a Landfill — Large Scale: • Fuel Supply Agreement (PPA) signed; Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) and its terms set: periodicity, indexation, currency, validity period, etc. • Large scale per batch(start from 1ton-5ton), each day can be produced up to 2 batch • Land lease signed • All necessary construction permits obtained • Design solutions and equipment (can be replaced) selected • “Turnkey” plant construction contract drawn Average profitability: 12 - 25%. Green Field projects (from scratch) — projects developed from scratch: • Legislation- covering payments for selling electricity to each grid existing in the country where the plant is to be built • Local energy market rules have been researched • Steps to connect the RES generators to the grid have been investigated • Feasibility study has been developed and plant design has been chosen • There is a possibility in place to obtain land for project realization • There is a memorandum in place with subsidiaries for “turnkey” plant construction Average profitability: 25 - 35% (does not include the sale of plant) Project development costs: $20,000 - $50,000 for the entire project, regardless of the capacity Construction cost: $600 - $650 per m2 Average sale price of operational plant: $1200 - $2000 per kg capacity Period of implementation: 3 to 9 months  An acceptable rate of return (ROI) for major investors is 7% per annum. This means that when we built a waste-to-tire plant, we can sell it to such an investor for a price that could ensure the profitability level with ROI from 2-10 years. In order to minimize the risks involved in project implementation, we conduct project audit and selection as follows: 1. Research and selection of projects of interest We select projects by stage, country and plant capacity by consulting: - Aggregation websites, where plant projects are published - Closed LinkedIn groups - Teaser emails from companies involved in plant project development - Partnerships with equipment suppliers - RES investment portals - Official public bulletins for EU investment opportunities 2. Initial analysis stage We verify the initial prerequisites and the possibility for their optimization by: - Checking the availability and the rate of the established tariff, as well as its compliance with legislation of the country - Checking the declared energy production via simulation (ANSYS) - Analyzing opportunities to optimize the state of the given economy, reduce the cost of equipment and construction, while increasing the energy production - Calculating profitability and analyzing possible risks At this stage, 80% of the proposed projects are usually rejected. 3. Technical audit In case a project passed the previous stage, we continue our research. We contact the owner, obtain documents and conduct further in-depth analysis: - We simulate the work of the planned plant using ANSYS in different scenarios and with different equipment, determining the compliance with the claimed data - We analyze the contract for the supply of fuel (FSA), the validity period, the value of indexation of the tariff and the risks involved - We check the land lease documents and their validity period - We check the building permits, validity period and the possibility of extension - We conduct an audit of all project-related documentation and propose technical solutions - We develop a feasibility study, including technical and financial models of the project in multiple scenarios - We analyze the proposed project implementation conditions and evaluate third-party contractors 4. Legal due diligence General legal due diligence: We research the legislation and normative acts, referred to by the project documentation and estimate any possible future changes.

Future Plans

Depletion of fossil fuel resources and stringent environmental laws have compelled to commit to the development of new and improved methods of sustainably managing resources. The industry’s focus has been gradually shifting towards energy recovery from waste tires which eventually solve the tire waste problem globally. Waste plastic are one of the major solid wastes in the automotive sector having an adverse impact on the environment if not properly disposed. Furthermore, waste plastics are a source of high grade energy; hence their improper disposal means wastage of said energy. Plastic is made from refined crude oil. Its price and production are dictated by the petrochemical industry and the availability of oil. As oil is a finite natural resource, the most sustainable option would be to reduce crude-oil consumption by recycling the plastic and recovering as much of the raw material as possible. There are two types of recycling: mechanical and chemical. Mechanical recycling involves sorting, cleaning and shredding plastic to make pellets, which can then be fashioned into other products. This approach works very well if plastic wastes are sorted according to their chemical composition. Chemical recycling, in contrast, turns the plastic into an energy carrier or feedstock for fuels.

Excessive Generation Generation of wastes has been an acute problem for a long time now. According to a Study by the University of Georgia, Indonesia has a major plastic waste problem on its hands. At the moment, the country is second only to China when it comes to dumping plastic waste into the world’s oceans, an estimated 3.22 million metric tons of plastic waste is tossed annually into the ocean surrounding Indonesia, while another 8.82 million metric tons of China’s plastic waste also makes its way into the ocean.
The crisis of plastic waste isn’t just limited to the ocean, but it has also affected Indonesian rivers. Data from Nature Communications revealed that four of Indonesia’s rivers – Brantas, Solo, Serayu and Progo – rank among the 20 most polluted rivers in the world
Landfill Issue Leachate and emissions of the harmful greenhouse gases are frequently associated with Landfills. A closer look at the qualitative contents of the wastes produced reveals that most materials that end up as wastes contain toxic materials. Gradually these toxic substances precipitate and leach out of the soil, eventually entering the groundwater and rendering them hazardous and unfit for consumption for years to come. The organic materials, compacted as a result of this, are covered down without being exposed to soil. This affects the natural aerobic process of decomposition by inhibiting oxygen through the covering of organic substances. This contributes to the production of inflammable, unwanted and harmful greenhouse house gases like Methane which are lethal to living organisms.


Indonesia is estimated to generate over 190,000 tons of waste every day, the majority of which is organic waste. Plastic constitutes around 25,000 tons per day of which at least 20 percent is believed to end up in rivers and coastal waters. The global plastic waste in the world’s oceans some figures suggest 15 percent comes from Indonesia. This is a global problem on a cataclysmic scale. Unfortunately, given Indonesia’s geography, scale and population, this country arguably faces the toughest of all challenges. Residents and businesses in Jakarta probably have no idea where their trash really ends up.
Organized mismanagement ever since waste-management has evolved into a profit making venture, people who opined in favor of safe and effective waste-management techniques have been outmatched by new industries waiting to invest in this business. Every industry, inclusive of the waste-management sector, has been a victim of organized corruption - either controlled by certain individuals or through systematic looting. These corporations have no regard for environmental impacts and do not seem to understand the severity of the issue. Mismanaged waste means the material is littered or not properly disposed off meaning there isn’t a formally managed waste management system.


Plastic Waste, also known as End-of-Life products that are use plastics that are not safe for public use due to their abrasion state. Since their non-biodegradability, flammability and chemical composition lead to leaching of toxic substances into the ground upon dumping, as well as the release of hazardous fumes during the incineration process, waste tires have inexplicably caused an enormous global problem.
The disposal of waste plastics in landfills proven to be not only detrimental to the environment but it also taking up space that can be better utilized. Most rigid plastic products can only be recycled a few times before they lose their original properties and become non-recyclable. Even in European countries with strict waste management strategies, only 31% of plastic waste is recycled. Worldwide plastic production is predicted to increase by 3.8% every year until 2030. Flexible, non-recyclable plastic materials are used in an increasing range of applications like packaging, 3D printing, and construction. We need to expand our range of options for keeping this plastic waste out of landfill. One potential approach is “plastic to energy”, which unlocks the chemical energy stored in waste plastic and uses it to create fuel.

According to report published by UN, the world population will increase from 7.6 billion today to 8.1 billion in 2025, with most growth in developing countries and more than half in Africa. Needless to say waste generation is going to be tremendous. The trends of some of the developed countries indicate and establish that waste generated is directly proportional to the development levels of the region. With rapid development in various countries globally, the waste generated is bound to increase manifold. Fuelverse aims to make whole of waste management sector decentralized, autonomous and technically advanced so that the problem of too much waste and lack of resources such as energy and other potential goods of economic value that are produced upon processing waste materials can be minimized if not eliminated. Fuelverse domain of action relies in the area of gap between the total waste produced and the net waste treated or recycled. Currently the gap between the two is highly disproportionate. A constant and smart effort is required to decrease this gap between the two. Also, since the waste generation, in sync with the increasing population is not expected to decrease anytime soon, there will always be the need to cope with it and thus an ever increasing need of such a platform

Despite of using incineration or landfill, we choose advance recovery thermal to get energy from waste that was environmental friendly and also to fulfill biomass energy demand.
