Social enterprise is kind of challenging. There are 2 sides that need to be collaborated in social enterprise; those are profits and community service. If we as the founder are not ready to elaborate those big ideas, our goals will be just a utopia. Hence, there are many things to be considered, especially about the first capital that we could have: human resources. Gender roles and differences in teams are among the things that must be considered. This includes embrace gender specific traits. Everyone should believe that individual personal strength is unique. This uniqueness can give more “colors” in a social enterprise, which is very important. Because of the complexity of obstacles that we may face, we need to have a diverse point of view and many approach from many sides. Or-Tic was, and is concern about the urgency of gender roles and its uniqueness. Our top managers are consisted of different gender: male and female. With his masculine accuracy and ability to stay logical, our founder is fully responsible in whole production. It is not only about to product as many as we can, but also to guarantee that every product we make is safe and easy to use. Also, with her hospitality and ability to convince more people, our co-founder is concerning more about social impacts of this enterprise. It is not only about to make sure everybody has received their salaries based on the agreement, but also to take time with Or-Tic team. Little chit-chats and personal approach can also boost the productivity, so that’s the reason why we need a “feminine” role in here. Henceforth, all of our volunteers and manager, no wonder about their gender are, need to have a high endurance and persistence. If it well-built inside, it will bright outside.
